Background information

  • This estate generally does not practise batonnage.
  • The estate was renamed “François et Antoine Jobard” in 2002, & “Antoine Jobard” in 2007 after François' full retirement.
  • Antoine tends to make wines that are leaner & tighter in their early years compared with those made by his father.

  • Meursault Genevrières (March 2009): not oxidized, great wine, fully mature [J. Prandi]
  • Mersualt Poruzots (May 2009): not oxidized but clearly on the down slope [Gregg Ushiroda]

  • Meursault Charmes (July 2009): not oxidized, deep yellow, mature, terrific [Gregg Ushiroda]

  • Mersualt Poruzots (Jul 2010): not oxidized but fully mature, very good for the year [J. Prandi]

  • Meursault Sous La Velle (21 Dec 2005): oxidised [anonymous] (I didn't know F. Jobard has this vineyard - could this wine be from Remi Jobard? [Toby Bailey])
  • Meursault Genevrieres (19 Dec 2005): not oxidized [Rich Simpson]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (Dec 2005) ; not oxidised, fresh as a daisy and delicious [Will Gau]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (Jan 2006) not oxidised, again delicious [Will Gau]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (12 Mar 09): DOA. Last of 4 purchased in single auction lot. KLWM import tags. Other 3 were perfect
  • Meursault (October 06) Fine, youthful and mineral [Mark Palmer]
  • Meursault En La Barre (November 07) Very good, not oxidized but mature and short and dull on the finish [Paul Hagerman]
  • Meursault en la Barre (27/10/09): perfectly sound, young, steely and acidic, still needs time (Sam Chafe)
  • Meursault Poruzots (Feb 2009): not oxidised [MLee]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2009): Hanging on but showing the beginnings of premature maderisation (Sam Chafe)
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): No oxidation, a hint of evolution, fresh and young, terrific wine [J. Prandi]
  • == Meursault Genevrieres (Sep, 2010): No maderisation, sensational wine, Grand Cru quality (Sam Chafe). ==

  • Meursault Genevrieres (12 Feb 2006): not oxidized [Mike During]
  • Meursault Poruzots (12 July 2006): not oxidized, quite nice actually [Michel Robert Abood]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): Non oxidation but clear evolution, a bit simple [J. Prandi]
  • Bourgogne Blanc (Aug 2005-Jan 2006): ~18 bottles - none especially oxidised [anonymous]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): No oxidation, very young an austere. Needs time but great wine [J. Prandi]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (July 2005-Nov 2006): 1 magnificent, 11 oxidised and undrinkable (stored in bond). [Christian Devereux]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (3/2009) oxidized? - Same petroleum/chemical notes as the Charmes of 4 yrs ago. Another CT poster called it 'rubber band,' but didn't find it a fault. Colour was OK, but this was gross.[Andrew Hall]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (3/2012) - Correctly evolved. Nicely balanced between richness and mineral. Really nice. [Andrew Hall]
  • Meursault Charmes (6/2005) oxidized - Drank this before I started paying attention to the whole oxidation thing, so I figured it for a flawed bottle. My notes talk about sherry and petroleum distillate on the nose and palate to the point of undrinkable, so it belongs in the oxidized category. [Andrew Hall]
  • Meursault Charmes (8/2007). Still remember a young and tightly wound example from 2-3 years ago, this however was hopelessly undrinkable. [Odd Rydland]
  • Meursault Charmes (Mar 2009). Completely oxidized.
  • Meursault Charmes (Mar 2011). Oxidized, but correctly so. Minerally and quite enjoyable. [Andrew Hall]
  • Meursault Poruzots (January 2007): Starting to show signs of oxidizing. [Jim Coley]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Nov. 2010) Dark color; oxidized on nose and palate. I had another bottle in 2009 in the same condition. [Paul Klevgard]
  • Meursault En La Barre (Aug 2011): 1 bottle, oxidised (E Veitch)
  • Meursault Poruzots (May 2005): not oxidized, very youthful [R DeAngelo]
  • Meursault Poruzots (June 2006) oxidized - deep golden color - polar opposite of the bottle had last year (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault Poruzots (Dec. 2010) light golden color, somewhat oxidized nose, drinkable but clearly going downhill fast. (Paul Klevgard)
  • Meursault Charmes (Sep 2007): tight, stony, not oxidized [MLee]
  • Meursault Poruzots (2008-2009): three bottles showing various degrees of maderisation, one bottle young and rather acidic, and three bottles attractively developed and drinking well. Although not bad, the last three had developed remarkably early and did not have the weight or structure normally found in Jobard wines (Sam Chafe).
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): Good but not great, some evolution [J. Prandi]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Nov 2011):Not oxidized at all, really excellent bottle [Frank Drew]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Sept 2015) not oxidized but fully mature (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault Genevrieres (July 2005) : 2 bottles. not oxidized [ejlammer]

  • Meursault Genevrieres (July 1, 2011) - not oxidized in the slightest and quite excellent [Maureen Nelson]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (April 2015) : 2 bottles. not oxidized (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault Genevrieres (July 2015) not oxidized (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault Genevrieres (9/2008) : not oxidized, but not terribly interesting either. [Andrew Hall]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (11/2009): not oxidized. Excellent [Kevin Harvey]
  • Bourgogne Blanc (tasted through 2008) 4 out of 5 clearly oxidized, The fifth bottle was delicious. (David Olsson)
  • Meursault Charmes (2/2015): Beautiful bottle. Started out very deep yellow towards orange with signs of age and oxidation but firmed up and even changed colour 5 hours later. Great classic Meursault. [Morten Båtbukt]

  • Meursault En La Barre (November 19, 2009): slighty oxidized. [Gregg Ushiroda]

  • Meursault En La Barre: (October 2010) near-alarming color when opened. Over ten minutes, the color deepened and the scant remaining nose and flavors crash-landed into full oxidation. [David Honig]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (November 2011) first bottle very oxidized (Suzanne Camhi)
Meursault Genevrieres (November 2011) opened another it still has some life. Slight oxidative note drink up (Suzanne Camhi)
  • Bourgogne Blanc: (May 2011) Medium intense maize yellow with a clearing rim. Vaguely oxidative evolution is clearly present on the nose, which never really disappears. Acidity is starting to integrate but inadequately buffered on the mid-palate. Not exactly gone, but probably on its way.[Mike de Lange]

  • Meursault Charmes (25 April 2011): deep gold, watery, sherry notes, strange acidity. Second bottle of five showing oxidation. [Andrew Rose].
  • Meursault Charmes (March 2013) not oxidized - powerful and tightly coiled (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): Powerful and young, no oxidation, great wine [J. Prandi]
  • Meursault En La Barre (Aug 2011): 1 bottle, no oxidation.(E Veitch)

  • Meursault En La Barre (06JUL10): deep yellow on opening, oxidized within 20 minutes of aeration [Ralph Earle]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Jul 2010): Good but not great, rich [J. Prandi]
  • Meursault Genevrieres (Nov 2017): Some slight oxidation, totally flat. [MM]

  • Meursault Charmes (Sept 2014) not quite “premoxed” but very advanced. Deep gold color (R DeAngelo)
  • Meursault–Charmes (Sep. 2017): Not oxidized. Smoky minerality in the nose was quite sexy. Pinpoint flavors were dry as a bone, but were supported by the underlying richness. Purchased in Jun. 2016 from a reputable West Coast retailer. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault Poruzots (Nov 2017): not oxidized, Antoine Jobard bottle very nice at Aldo Sohm in NYC [TOlsen]

  • Meursault–Charmes (Mar. 2018 – Sep. 2020): 6 btls not oxidized. Probably the least developed cuvée; decanting is necessary. Plenty of life ahead given its bracing acidity. From 6 btls purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Genèvrières (Dec. 2017 – Sep. 2020): 6 btls not oxidized. Exquisite aromatics; decanting is recommended. Should continue to develop nicely for a few more years. From 6 btls purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Poruzots (Oct. 2017 – Apr. 2020): 6 btls not oxidized. A little less complexity compared with the Genèvrières, but exquisite nevertheless; decanting is recommended. Should continue to develop nicely for a few more years. From 6 btls purchased in 2011 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Poruzots (Dec. 2020 – Oct. 2021): 6 btls not oxidized. Straw yellow color with crystalline clarity. Sexy nose of white flowers complicated by popcorn notes. Delicious &, most importantly, not as reductive as the 2009's. Decanting is recommended. From 6 btls purchased in 2012 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Charmes (Jul. 2022 – ): 5 btls not oxidized. Best decanted. This is an engaging wine, but is much leaner than it needs to be, & the bouquet developed a fairly pronounced scent of baby powder in some btls. 1 btl consumed in Jan. 2024 was darker than the previous ones, but showed no sign of oxidation EXCEPT for the fact that it was much more enjoyable & less citric than the others. Dare I say it? The super–reductive winemaking style of Jobard fils offers an extra layer of protection against premox that, even if it were to occur in relatively mild form, the wine remains brilliantly drinkable & not unlike some of the best made by Jobard père in a bygone era. From 6 btls purchased in 2013 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Genèvrières (Aug. 2022 – ): 5 btls not oxidized. Best decanted. Exquisite nose of sliced pears & apples intermingled with citrus blossom. Pleasantly sweeter on the palate than the Poruzots & Charmes. A touch of baby powder also develops here in the nose. From 6 btls purchased in 2013 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
  • Meursault–Poruzots (Apr. 2022 – Aug. 2024): 6 btls not oxidized. Appropriately pale yellow gold. Citrus, mineralité, & a hint of white flowers in the nose. Smooth & beautifully balanced on the palate, but this is a modern, lean style of Meursault that is best served with food. The vintages 2009, 2010, & 2011 are so consistent in style that I would have difficulty distinguishing between them in a blind tasting. From 6 btls purchased in 2013 from the domaine's West Coast importer Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. [Rayner Cheung]
